Recently Herd and Spotted
- CKN partnered with STRONG ACC and Eastern TN Girl Scouts to provide 50 Moozie kits to students recovering from Hurricane Helene. The kits included books, kindness resources, a plush puppet, and cheerful handmade cards.
- CKN presented “Preventing Bullying through Kindness” workshop at Middle TN State University with Early Childhood Education professor Dr. Pamela Ertel. The evening included Moozie and insights from CKN Board’s Stephanie Barca, Gitanjali Rao (via video interview), and Trish Cronin.
- Moozie visited The Academy of Burkitt Commons (Nolensville) and Learning Zone John Rice (Murfreesboro) for a dialogic reading with two-to-five-year-olds. Moozie Youth Ambassador Declan M. visited Primrose School of Denver to share a Moozie puppet, storybook, and kindness discussion with preschoolers.
- In holiday spirit, CKN appeared at Franklin HS’s “Mistletoe Market” and St. Matthew School’s “Holiday Market” (Franklin) to promote Moozie resource sales and share hundreds of Moozie stickers.
- Mechanical Moozie participated in “Harvest Jamboree” at Brentwood-United Methodist Church and “Trunk or Treat” at St. John’s West United Methodist Church (Nashville).
- Nashville Voyager magazine published a November 7 article to spotlight Farmer Ted and what makes CKN great. Please enjoy reading
- Moozie visited Bound Booksellers & Gifts (Westhaven, Franklin) to playfully interact with children while her team read Moozie books. Several of these Moozie storybooks can be found there for purchase!
- Moozie celebrated her favorite day, World Kindness Day (November 13), by enjoying inspiring acts of kindness.
- CKN and Williamson County Schools Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center students launched exciting ’24 – ’25 Moozie collaborations (like this newsletter).
- CKN participated in Giving Tuesday with several donors giving in support of future programs. Thank you! A $45.00 donation provides a kindness kit to encourage a child or community in need, while $15.00 puts a cuddly Moozie plush in the hands of a child. CKN appreciates further support this year to fund Moozie kindness kits for children suffering from the Los Angeles wildfires.
In The Field Ahead
January 24: CKN kicks off the 5th Annual Moozie kindness essay/art contest with a May 5 deadline!
February 17: Moozie will spread kindness on Random Acts of Kindness Day! Stay tuned for details on Moozie’s planned visit at Learning Express Toys & Gifts of Nashville (in Franklin).
February 24: Moozie visits Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) to meet with Kindergartners at Whitsitt Elementary School. The Moozie team will read, sing, and discuss kindness.
March 2-6: Moozie and her friends make school rounds in CO. and TN., including at Franklin Special School District (FSSD) and MNPS, to read during “Read Across America Week.”
Ongoing: CKN’s 2025 kindness programs will continue to improve and expand as Q1 strategy discussions will inform. CKN cherishes all requests, partnership opportunities, and ideas.
